Make your self care a priority this holiday season

It's that time of the year - the holiday season! Many people love the holiday season, and enjoy all the time with family, parties, and festive spirit. But let's be honest - the holiday season can get very stressful. There is a lot of pressure to show up, dress up, turn up, and deliver. The added stress of this season makes it even more important to practice self care, so that you can continue to show up as the best version of yourself. Make sure you are taking some time each day to do something nice for yourself. Read on for our special tips for practicing self care during the holiday season. 

Deep breaths. Taking a few slow, deep breaths can work wonders to relieve stress in the moment. Try breathing in for 5 counts, hold for 2 counts, breathe out for 7 counts, hold for 2, and begin again. The best part about this practice, is that you can do it anywhere ;)

Mediation. It doesn't have to be so serious. Just take 10-15 minutes, get comfortable, and ground yourself into your body. 

Candles and bubble baths. Don't underestimate the power of a good bath with a yummy candle. Travelling this holiday season? Throw a good candle and a bath bomb in your carry on. Face masks. Can you take 15-20 minutes to nourish your skin? We think you can. There are lots of ideas out there for DIY face masks too, using everyday ingredients like yogurt and honey. Plus, with a face mask on, you won't be able to answer the door if a neighbor drops by unexpectedly. #donotdisturb

Journal. Take 5 minutes and get all your thoughts out and on the page. Draw some pictures. Write a rap ballad. It really doesn't matter what you write, but you might be surprised how good it feels to get some of that brain clutter out and on paper. Burn it afterwards if you want (guilty...) just get it out. You'll feel lighter. 

Clear those vibes. Sometimes we just need an energy re-set. Burning sage is great for clearing out stagnant energy. We've talked about burning sage and what it can do for you before here, so I won't repeat it. We do still have some sage a wildflower bundles available here. Of course, there are other ways of clearing the vibes without burning anything. If you're travelling, or staying in your grandmother's house this holiday season, you might want a more subtle way to clear out any weird energy you're picking up. One of our favorites is Agua de Florida. This is an essential oil based spray that you can use to freshen up yourself and your surroundings. Hydrate and mind your business. Girl, seriously. Make sure you're drinking enough water. 64 ounces a day minimum. Don't mess around, do it. 

Masturbate. Not kidding here either. An orgasm produces some of the most powerful energy around, and love energy at that.
